Join us for “We Belong,” presented by the Asian American Bar Association of the Greater Bay Area (“AABA”). The day will include guided docent-led tours of the exhibition, examining the incarceration of Japanese Americans during World War II and the important parallels to modern issues involving civil rights and immigrant communities. Donald K. Tamaki, partner at Minami Tamaki LLP and a member of the pro bono team that reopened the landmark Korematsu v. United States case, will present opening remarks and discussion along with Charles Jung, current AABA President.
Guided tours will start at 12:30 p.m. and 1:45 p.m. The AABA leadership and Civil Rights Committee will also present perspectives from their “Nation of Immigrants” campaign and highlight their advocacy efforts. Light refreshments will be served.
